Screenplay for the first part of the \u201eFrauen und Arbeit\u201c (women and work) trilogy with film clips and a foreword by Angela McRobbie<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Angela McRobbie (cultural theorist), Michaela W\u00fcnsch (publishing collective b_books) and Janine Sack (editor and publisher, EECLECTIC) talk about Tatjana Turanskyj\u2019s seminal film \u201cEine flexible Frau\u201d(\u201cDrifter\u201d) from 2010 and the e-book which includes the film script, working materials and newly released outtakes of the film.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Published in 2022, a year after the untimely death of filmmaker Tatjana Turanskyj, this e-book is a tribute to her work and life. \u201cEine flexible Frau\u201d negotiates precarious working conditions, self-marketing claims in the creative world of work and feminist aberrations in postmodern capitalism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Turanskyj’s motto \u201cWeitermachen!\u201d (Keep going!) means for us to keep talking about her timelessly relevant work, to keep watching her films and to keep reading the script. We are coming together to present the wealth of material in the e-book, to see film excerpts and to engage in conversation with those involved in the publication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tatjana Turanskyj <\/strong>
During and after studying sociology, literature and media studies in Frankfurt on the Main, Tatjana Turanskyj was a performer with Einar Schleef in Frankfurt on the Main and Berlin. After her studies, she first worked as a copywriter and author. In 2000 she founded the OK Girls Gallery with Saskia Draxler, where Peaches and Gonzales, among others, made one of their first appearances. In 2000, she began an artistic career and co-founded the performance film collective hangover ltd* with projects at the Volksb\u00fchne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz and various film projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since 2008, co-owner of turanskyj&ahlrichs medienproduktion, which aims to strengthen modern contemporary auteur cinema. Turanskyj\u2019s films have been shown at international festivals and in exhibition contexts (e. g. Berlinale, Gothenburg, Rio de Janeiro, Cannes\/ACID), they have won awards and have been evaluated in cinemas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tatjana Turanskyj also taught at various universities, most recently as a professor of film at the Hochschule f\u00fcr Gestaltung, Offenbach, she gave lectures at conferences on gender & film and was co-founder of Pro Quote Regie\/Film, an organisation that successfully campaigns for equality and diversity in the film and media sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She died in Berlin on 18 September 2021 after a serious illness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Angela McRobbie<\/strong> is Emeritus Professor at Goldsmiths University of London. Her most recent books are Fashion as Creative Economy 2022 and (forthcoming) Ulrike Ottinger: Film, Art and the Ethnographic Imagination. Angela was a close friend and colleague of Tatjana and in the coming months she will be writing about her work as part of a critical feminist pedagogy project.  Angela lives in London and Berlin. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Michaela W\u00fcnsch<\/strong> has taught Media Studies at Universit\u00e4t Wien, Freie Universit\u00e4t and Humboldt Universit\u00e4t in Berlin, Universit\u00e4t Potsdam, and University of California Riverside. From 2012-2015 she conducted a research project on repetition in psychoanalysis and television as Marie-Curie-Fellow at UC Riverside, UCLA and Universit\u00e4t Potsdam. She is a founding member of the publishing collective b_books and serves as the president of the Psychoanalytic Library Berlin, a space for psychoanalytic research and practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jan Ahlrichs<\/strong> founded turanskyj&ahlrichs GbR together with Tatjana Turanskyj. There he was responsible for finances and contracts.
