Previously hidden information is revealed \u2013 beyond capital flows, stock market listings, and international money flows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/eeclectic.de\/en\/produkt\/economic-words\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Economic Words<\/em>&nbsp;is availavle as an e-book from EECLECTIC.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Basement Berlin presents a collection of works by Anke Becker, Matthias Beckmann, Birgit Cauer, J\u00f6rg Dedering, Felix Deiters, Ulrike Dornis, Katia Fouquet, Sophia Pomp\u00e9ry, Laura Rammo, Hans Zeidler, and Juliane Zelwies.&nbsp;<\/strong>The group exhibition, curated by Oliver M\u00f6st, runs until 13 September 2025, and&nbsp;<strong>explores the perception of art as labor<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 with a look back at art history, politics, and pop culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The statement that art is beautiful but also hurts refers not only to the emotional content of artworks but also to the conditions under which art is created. The intersection between art as a technical craft and as playful expression and inspiration has been discussed for centuries, and the tension intensified in the 19th century: \u201cThe Romantics emphasized the freedom of art, but Modernism, with its market mechanisms, showed that artists had long been part of economic structures.\u201d Preparation, implementation, mediation, project management, acquisition, public relations, professional development, administration, social media, accounting, competition for funding and resources\u2014this is what artistic work looks like today. Often invisible, often unpaid.
