Am 11. M\u00e4rz liest die EECLECTIC-Autorin Johanna Thompson aus ihrem Buch \u201eBirds\u201c zum Auftakt der vierten Staffel, Folge 3 von Chromatic Wednesdays: Divination.\u00a0

Die von der neuen Gesellschaft f\u00fcr bildende Kunst (nGbK) veranstaltete und von Florian W\u00fcst kuratierte Abendveranstaltung kombiniert eine Live-Lesung von Johanna mit einer Vorf\u00fchrung von Cl\u00e9mentine Roys experimentellem Dokumentarfilm \u201eArancia Bruciata\u201d aus dem Jahr 2024, gefolgt von einer Q&A-Runde. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unter dem Motto \u201eKontemplation und Handlungsf\u00e4higkeit\u201d regt diese Folge von Chromatic Wednesdays zu einem Perspektivwechsel in unruhigen Zeiten und an Orten an, an denen sich Realit\u00e4t und Fantasie vermischen. Rituale, Omen, Himmelsph\u00e4nomene sowie \u00fcbermenschliche Erz\u00e4hlungen: Durch alternative Praktiken, Weltgestaltung und Spekulation wird die nat\u00fcrliche Umwelt auf eine Weise wahrgenommen, erforscht und bearbeitet, die sich gegen ungebremstes Wachstum und Ausbeutung wendet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Birds<\/em> wurde von Jim Goldbergs Rich and Poor <\/em>inspiriert, einer Sammlung von Fotografien reicher und armer Amerikaner*innen, die mit einer handschriftlichen Erkl\u00e4rung der Abgebildeten versehen sind, wodurch ein ergreifendes Portr\u00e4t der USA entstand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So war es ein logischer Schritt, dass ein Ornithologe (ein fiktiver Ornithologe) V\u00f6gel auf \u00e4hnliche Weise portr\u00e4tiert, denn sie haben genauso viel \u00fcber den menschlichen Zustand zu sagen. Wenn die Leute nur zuh\u00f6ren w\u00fcrden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
