Yves Mettler

Yves Mettler’s works aim to create a sense of today’s global urbanisation processes. His work ranges from interventions in public spaces to sound installations. The works form a narrative structure that gives the urban environment a polyphonic, emotional and often humorous expression.

Since 2002, he has been developing a research and art practice around urban places called “Europe Square”. In 2021, Urbanomic published his book Atlas Europe Square. In 2018–2019, together with Achim Lengerer and Alexis Hyman Wolff, he organised the project “Am Rand von EuropaCity” in Berlin.

His work has been shown at the Kaunas Biennale (2021), Hamburger Bahnhof, Berlin (2017), Bozar, Brussels (2016), Kunsthaus Langenthal (2012), Bawag Contemporary Vienna (2009). He holds an MFA from the Kunstakademie Wien, an MA in Art Theory and Language, EHESS, and an Art and Politics MFA from Bruno Latour’s pilot project at Sciences-PO, Paris. He is co-founder and editor of the art journal ztscrpt.net since 2002.

Achim Lengerer

In his artistic practice, Achim Lengerer deals with the political effects and functions of language and text. In addition to cinematic soundtracks, installations and publications, his forms of expression include performative lectures and events.

Lengerer founded various collaborative projects, including the freitagsküche in Frankfurt on the Main. Since 2009, Lengerer has run the mobile exhibition space and publishing house Scriptings.

2017 Participation in documenta 14 with the 21-hour radio work different time, different place, different pitch (with Dani Gal) produced by Savvy Funk and Deutschlandfunk. PhD at Goldsmiths, University of London, UK.

Alexis Hyman Wolff

Alexis Hyman Wolff (b. 1982, Los Angeles) is a Berlin-based artist-curator working toward the integration of artistic, social and scholarly practices in museums. From 2015-17, she was engaged within the community of Kleinmachnow, laying the groundwork for an experimental local history museum. She received her M.A. in Artistic Museum Studies at the Institute for Art in Context, University of the Arts Berlin (2015). Other exhibition projects include: Beyond Objects in Bernau bei Berlin (2014) and On Time in the Museum der Dinge,Berlin (2013). Much of her experience in creative museum work has been gained at the Museum of Jurassic Technology, Los Angeles, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and the Museum of American Art, Berlin. She has been in residence at the Roger Brown Study Collection of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, Bordeaux in cooperation with the Bordeaux Musée d’Histoire Naturelle.
